Tring Station Town
Guide The town of Tring is located in west Hertfordshire, near the border with Buckinghamshire. Tring is on the London and Birmingham Railway, and it connects you to major interchanges. The town opened its first station in 1837. Queen Victoria visited the station on her first journey out of Euston in 1944. There is a farmers' market and a 40-stall market every Friday and alternate Saturdays. While the town isn't particularly large, it does have a history worth exploring.
Tring town offers many activities for visitors to enjoy. It has a small museum that was established in the 17th century and a lovely natural history museum with costumed fleas and a grinning polar bear. During the summer, you can enjoy the open-air Shakespeare Festival at the Pendley Manor Hotel. The town's history is also largely unknown. Although Tring Station opened in October 1837, few travelers take the time to appreciate its history. The railway that serves the town has little significance and bears little resemblance to the work of Robert Stephenson and his team of civil engineers and contractors. There is also a garden fronting the Station Master's house, so the forecourt doesn't look like a Victorian town!
